Children Belong in Families.

Our mission is to see them belong to loving, supportive, forever families.

Of the estimated 105,000 children in Ukraine’s orphanage system, roughly 92% of those children have at least one biological parent who still has guardianship rights. That means a majority of the children across Ukraine’s orphanages, boarding schools, and other institutions, cannot be adopted unless those rights are terminated.

These statistics were recorded before Russia’s invasion in 2022. War separates families and creates even more orphans.

Since 2016, New Song International has done extensive research on why so many vulnerable children end up in large institutions in Ukraine. Our founders and team of medical, family, and counseling experts are dedicated to tackling those issues by creating resources at the ground level before separation occurs.

Our vision is to create an inclusive Community Resource Center that is designed to support the unique needs of families at risk of separation, especially the underreached families of children with severe medical and special needs.

1. Land

  • We are currently looking at a piece of property in a village 15 minutes from the capital city in our region. The plot is several acres on the top of a hill—where we will bring hope and light to the most vulnerable and downcast.

  • Thanks to the generous support of countless individuals, we are so grateful to have the funding needed to cover the costs involved in the process of obtaining land for our highly-anticipated center! The approximate cost of this phase of the project is $40,000.

2. Building

  • We are working with a wonderful organization, International Networx, to create the blueprints for our Community Resource Center. Wood-frame construction is up-and-coming technology in Ukraine and very different than traditional Ukrainian concrete infrastructure.

International Networx has been building wood-frame structures in Ukraine for decades and we are excited about the experience they are bringing to our western region through our project.

  • We are constantly assessing our blueprints to make sure they are relevant to the needs of Ukraine and the at-risk community. We are excited to share models of our center as fundraising tools once they are complete, but you can start backing this phase of the project before then by clicking here.

The approximate cost of our center is $400-$600 per square meter (total depending on windows, doors, flooring, and other finishings). Our current floorplans are roughly 541 square meters, totaling roughly $270,500 in construction fees.

3. Community Resource Center

  • Over the years of working to provide medical support to orphans and families at risk of separation, we have connected with countless medical professionals and family-strengthening resources that we are excited to bring to our center.

We plan to continue offering medical and therapy support to families at risk of separation and host community-building and family-strengthening activities at our center.

  • We are a donation-operated organization, benefiting from and working in tandem with several larger organizations in both the U.S. and Ukraine to bring resources to the medically fragile and disabled community.

We are excited to have a center that can house and best utilize the therapy equipment that has already been graciously donated to our efforts. Upon request, a list of our most-desired furniture and therapy equipment can be provided.

The estimate for furnishing our center is $82,742.
